In 1977, our founder, Walter S. Jackson, had a dream of a community-based program that would offer addiction treatment services for the Five Points / Cole community.More importantly, Walter Jackson didn’t just dream, he went to work!He organized the community and gained support from a wide range of social investors to finance the services.He recruited a strong personnel staff that understood the challenges of addiction in a personal and professional way.He gave to the community what they wanted and needed, and he made his dream a reality.

That dream is still alive and requires the same hard work, community support, sensitive and competent staff, and the dedication to those we serve.We enter each year with a renewed sense of purpose, commitment and a touch of Walter’s spirit.The result is a host of new programs and services that will be initiated in the future.It is an exciting time.
